Overview

The responsibilities of the Consumer Compliance Analyst will include performing compliance reviews and assists in audits to ensure that Credit Union team members are performing loan and new account duties and other process duties in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations and Credit Union policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Complete loan and new account audits for Credit Union team members to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements and internal policy and procedural requirements.
  • Complete audits as assigned in the areas of file maintenance, subsequent action, W8-BEN, adverse actions, wire transfers and others.
  • Assist business units with root cause analysis and management action planning based on continuous audit results and other factors.
  • May assist Senior Compliance Analysts and Compliance Officers with updates and reviews of Credit Union policies and procedures based on management request, regulatory changes, internal audits, and examinations by regulatory agencies.
  • May assist with training of Credit Union team members in the area of regulatory compliance in coordination with the Senior Compliance Analyst over Training.
  • Conduct research to answer regulatory-related questions asked by management and Credit Union departments as needed.
  • Complete reports and other supporting documentation of activities for management and others as assigned.
  • Ensure quality audit workpapers, meaning that they should be specific, comprehensive and complete, and reflective of control testing methodology, testing results and other parts of the audit process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience. 0 – 3 years’ experience required. Ability to work with and communicate with all Credit Union personnel in the various departments. Ability to maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records at all times.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to Idaho Central Credit Union.
  • Experience in data analytics.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of risk management practices.
  • Possess the ability to conduct in-depth research on compliance-related issues and questions.
  • Ability to navigate and enter data into the GRC solution.
  • Advanced Excel, intermediary Access, SQL, Power BI, or other data analytics tool.

 

Performance Standard:

A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff.  Accurate in balancing and account research. Be able to diagnose problems. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Ability to work without supervision. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
