Overview

The Private Banking Relationship Officer is primarily responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing high net worth members. This position is accountable for deposit, loan and revenue growth as well as referral business to other areas of the Credit Union. The position is responsible for understanding complex estates, trusts, custom credit solutions and comprehensive wealth management strategies. Responsible for conducting holistic reviews of members’ financial situations and working closely with members to address their unique needs in estate planning, and specialized credit requirements. This role demands a high degree of technical expertise, strong member relationship skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated, strategic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage banking relationships with high-net-worth members while delivering high value member experience.
  • Proactively investigate opportunities to expand Private Client market share by working with prospects and existing members. Works closely with Credit Union partners in the business area and other internal sources.
  • Collaborate with legal, tax and estate planning experts to address complex issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals. Serve as the primary point of contact for members, understanding their objectives, goals and family dynamics and providing them exceptional, ongoing service.
  • Develop, generate and follow-up on new member leads through various channels, including self-sourced prospects, existing members, and referrals from other departments.
  • Conduct periodic reviews with members to determine additional products and services to meet their needs.
  • Responsible for increasing deposit relationships for high-net-worth members.
  • Advise members on tailored credit solutions to support their liquidity needs, including custom lending structures, credit facilities and other financing strategies
  • Cultivates strong community relations to develop a pipeline of quality prospects and referral sources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver cohesive, integrated solutions tailored to each member’s needs. Facilitate smooth collaboration across departments to ensure the best possible service.
  • Assist the development and growth of the department while building relationships with both members and executive management.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. (professional certifications such as CPB encouraged but not required) Minimum 9 or more years of work experience in Private Client banking, Trust or investment management and at least 5 years in a sales role. Ability to work under pressure and in an organized manner. Excellent communication and people skills. Proven track record of managing high-net-worth members with experience in providing sophisticated, personalized financial advice.

Must take pride in the department by working collaboratively with team members, peers, internal and external partners. Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a focus on attendance, quality and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
