The Compliance Risk Manager will supervise the Compliance Analysts, Senior Compliance Analysts, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) analysts, and Fair Lending Officers and the processes and systems associated with their duties and responsibilities while coaching and training them to performance excellence. Review workpaper, Compliance Assessment reports, and prepare Compliance Annual Plans, and any ad-hoc requests from the AVP of Compliance or VP of Risk Management. Additionally, will interpret and summarize regulatory guidance for applicability, drive internal process improvements, create, and leverage data analytics dashboards for compliance risk monitoring, and manage, summarize, and provide recommendation on external content submitted by regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or similar field required. Juris Doctorate or another graduate degree, preferred. The Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate is a plus. Minimal to no experience post law school, or a minimum of two years’ compliance or audit experience required; three or more years preferred. Ability to analyze, synthesize, and apply regulatory guidance to the business. Strong ability to provide evidentiary information for recommendations to Senior Management, that are compelling, practical, actionable and with different options to solve potential concerns. Persuasive in verbal and written communication, providing a robust rationale and a strong qualitative and/or quantitative evidentiary conclusion. Practices professional skepticism, respectful disagreements, and seeks for common-ground resolutions that further the goals of the Credit Union. Displays comfort and poise when discussing improvements with business lines’ management. Also, possess strong leadership skills, training skills, and people management skills. Ability to lead, coach, and train others in compliance and compliance assessments and BSA/Anti-money Laundering activity. CUNA’s Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation or equivalent preferred. Ability to communicate with Senior Management and with all Credit Union personnel. Ability to always maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.
Performance Standard:
The position requires the ability to lead, coach, and train others to excel in compliance, BSA, and fair lending functions, analyze, assess, and appropriately respond to compliance-related risks, and manage team members to support Credit Union compliance/BSA needs effectively and efficiently across all departments. It also requires knowledge of all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to Idaho Central Credit Union and the ability to keep executive management informed of such. Ability to use all available technology related to compliance/BSA functions. Strong ability to communicate with members, team members, examiners, and management effectively in verbal and written form. Strong ability to organize and manage the workload of Compliance Analysts, BSA Team Members, and Fair Lending Team Members. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed, and as a leader and representative of Idaho Central Credit Union and our Core Values.
