Overview

Work with the SBA Loan Officers, SBA Loan Underwriter(s) and SBA Processors to secure SBA products and guarantees. Conducts and is responsible to make SBA recommendations regarding credit decisions, risk ratings, loan pricing, and credit structure to management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a pipeline of 3-4 loans to an approval/denial credit decision.
  • Work closely with SBA Loan Officer and SBA Loan Underwriter I and III
  • Mentor and train SBA Loan Underwriter I
  • Assist with financial analysis and credit memorandums on service requests.
  • Detailed analysis of applicant’ financial status, credit worthiness, repayment, collateral analysis, industry analysis, risk rating analysis and compliance with ICCU regulatory guidelines and SBA eligibility, as applicable.
  • Prepares the Credit Memorandum detailing the loan request, provides recommendation, and prepares for submittal to loan committee.
  • Works with the Processor throughout closing process; including but not limited to file completion, review and approval of all Underwriting items, preparation of Change Memos, complying with all Prefunding file review items as needed to ensure a smooth and timely loan closing
  • Evaluates third party appraisal(s) on real estate, business valuation(s) and environmental assessment (s), tax transcripts, PSA’s, Lease, Franchise Agreements, etc. Reviews documentation upon completion for compliance with loan conditions.
  • Develops expertise in use of ICCU loan systems. Ensures that all documents required for the credit approval of the loan transaction are uploaded to nCino.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
  • Intermediate level knowledge in SBA underwriting, structuring, eligibility, and servicing requirements.

Qualifications

2-5 years of SBA underwriting experience for SBA 7a, SBA Express, and SBA 504 loan requests. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance and/or equivalent experience required. Working Knowledge and understanding of Small Business Administration (SBA) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ICCU Lending Policies. Advanced working knowledge of accounting principles, tax return analysis and analytical interpretation of balance sheet and income statement analysis and cash flow. Experience in financial analysis of credits with in-depth knowledge of income statements, tax returns and other financial documentation.

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Must take pride in department, always meeting and exceeding member’s expectations. Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a focus on details, attendance, quality and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union. Must be an independent thinker in collaboration with other professionals and have the ability to “find a way” to make a loan request while maintaining the credit quality dictated by ICCU policy.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
