    As a Workstation Technician, your primary function is to provide front-line primary technical support to end users through troubleshooting workstation and user problems. Research, analyze, diagnose and resolve issues with team member systems including computer hardware & software, peripheral equipment. This may include answering questions, troubleshooting problems, teaching or guiding users regarding software and hardware functionality. Determines the most effective manner to resolve client's technical issues.


    1. Engages in research and in-depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
    2. Records required team member and problem information in the designated trouble ticket system. Updates tickets with appropriate journal entries of activities, and closes tickets with resolution and hours worked upon completion of the job. Provide documentation as appropriate (e.g. ticket creation and maintenance, e-mails, process improvements, knowledge base articles, monthly reports).
    3. Elevates complex and/or high priority problems to the appropriate support groups for resolution. Engages vendor support technicians when needed.
    4. Install/replace workstations, phones, mobile devices, hard drives, power supplies, memory, graphics cards, peripheral items (monitors, keyboards, mice, scanners, and others), etc. Delivers and performs system set-up of new & repaired workstations along with installation of additional hardware, software and peripherals.
    5. Performs computer imaging including software & hardware validation and pre-delivery testing.
    6. Receives assets, transports equipment using a company vehicle between multiple facilities, stages equipment for build/image activity, executes equipment replacement activity, updates asset management system, prepares assets for disposition.
    7. Monitors and tracks workstation performance leveraging desktop tools and suggests ways to improve the user experience.
    8. Run Anti-Virus scans on workstations and resolves any issues.
    9. Collaborate with teammates to identify process improvements.
    10. Assist other technicians and analysts as needed. This position requires independent work, sharing information and assisting others with work orders.
    11. Other duties as assigned.



    A qualified candidate will have a post-secondary degree in computer science/computer information systems, related field or a combination of related experience and education. Minimum 3-5 years of experience. Preferred to have CompTIA's Security+ certification. Ability to work with and communicate with all Credit Union personnel in the various departments. Ability to maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records at all times.


    This person needs excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and software along with file/folders permissions. They need to be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities. They must have very good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with all team members in every role. The person needs a good background in desktop management and strong analytical and problem solving skills. They need a demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. They must have a professional appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed with the ability to work without supervision. They must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.


    Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.). Sit for extended periods of time. Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. Reach keyboards. Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.). Must be able to drive and travel around the state of Idaho to service branches and other locations.
